Last updated on by admin

A sticky/floating sidebar widget allows your sidebar content to be visible to the visitors even when a page is scrolled down. This is very useful when you want to make certain content accessible to your visitors at all times.

How to Create a Sticky/Floating Sidebar Widget in WordPress

1. Download and install the Q2W3 Fixed Widget plugin. Once you install the plugin there are some settings that you can configure in the Q2W3 Fixed Widget plugin menu (Appearance > Fixed Widget Options). We will just go with the default options for now.

2. Now go to Appearance > Widgets or open the Customizer interface (Appearance > Customize).

3. Open an existing sidebar widget or create a new one.

4. Enable the “Fixed Widget” option.

5. Save the widget.

Now If you open a page on your site and scroll down, you will see that this widget will stay like a floating element on the side of your screen.

There are also other ways to create a fixed floating sidebar widget (with custom CSS and JavaScript code). But this is by far the easiest method for creating a sticky floating sidebar widget in WordPress.
